What is a bioblitz?
An opportunity for the community to come together to identify as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. We will use science skills like observation and STEM tools like tablets, apps, and microscopes. We engineer solutions to wildlife challenges and share our ideas with land conservation experts. During our blitz we will be using the app iNaturalist to document the species that we see around the preserve.
Where are we blitzing?
We are going to be studying the species at Gwynedd Preserve which is located at 547 South Sweedsford Road North Wales, PA 19454.
Gwynedd Preserve is an oasis of nature nestled among the highly developed suburbs of Blue Bell and North Wales. After more than a century in agriculture, the preserve’s fields are being carefully restored. A walk along the trails reveals a re-emerging ecosystem of native plants including warm-season grasses and wildflowers. |
